This is a collection of Rudolf Steiner's insights for Steiner-Waldorf schools on self-management, experiential study, self-education and co-operative working. Including extensive excerpts of Rudolf Steiner's speeches and writings, Republican Academies explores Steiner's views on college life (the faculty of teachers in a school) as well as outlines some of the history and development of the Waldorf philosophy throughout the beginning of the twentieth century. Steiner's practical experiment in 'republican self-management' -- the Stuttgart Waldorf school -- today has its legacy in over one thousand Steiner-Waldorf schools around the world.
